Position Description:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Sr. Mortgage Loan Officer to join our team. In this role, you will guide clients through the home financing process, from initial application to closing. You will assess borrowers’ financial needs, advise them on suitable loan products, cross-sell additional products and services and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Consultation: Meet with prospective borrowers to understand their financial goals and recommend appropriate mortgage products; Conventional, Jumbo, Mass Housing, Portfolio Residential loans and Construction Loans.
  • Loan Origination: Assist clients in completing loan applications and ensure accuracy and completeness of all required documentation.
  • Financial Assessment: Analyze credit reports, income documents, and other financial data to determine loan eligibility.
  • Product Knowledge: Stay updated on various loan programs, interest rates, and industry trends to offer clients the best solutions.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with clients, real estate agents, and other industry professionals to generate new business opportunities. Fostering customer growth and retention through cross-selling opportunities for deposits, loans, and fee income.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies.
  • Communication: Act as a liaison between clients, underwriters, and other stakeholders to facilitate a smooth loan process.
  • Sales: Achieve or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets for loan and deposit production.

Qualifications, Education and Experience:

  • Proven experience in mortgage lending, banking, or a related field.
  • Active Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) license through NMLS (or ability to obtain prior to employment).
  • Strong understanding of mortgage products, lending regulations, and industry trends.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple clients, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; a bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field is preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in mortgage sales, customer service and financial services (preferred).
  • Proficiency in loan origination software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Self-motivated with a goal-oriented mindset.
  • Strong networking and relationship-building abilities.
