The Bay State Savings Bank Champions for Children initiative was created in 2004 to recognize and support local organizations and individuals who provide education, mentoring, training, life skills development, or recreational opportunities to the youth of the community.
Since its inception, Champions for Children has raised over $110,000 for local organizations and charities. Recent Champions for Children honorees include, Jose Antonio Rivera, The Boys & Girls Club of Worcester, The McAuley Nazareth Home for Boys, The Rainbow Child Development Center, The Carriage House, N.E.A.D.S, The Barton Center for Diabetes Education, YouthGROW, Project Smile, ForgeWorks Farm, Girls Inc., Straight a Head Ministries, Hector Reyes House, Worcester Chamber Music Society Neighborhood Strings Program and Worcester Junior Sharks Youth Hockey Pre-Concussive Testing Program.

Must be a Central Massachusetts non-profit organization or individual that works to provide education, mentoring, training, life skills development, or recreational opportunities to the youth of the community. Organizations must provide verification of tax-exempt status under section 501 (c) 3 of the Internal Revenue Code.
